The small print
How we handle your information, the terms of using this site, and our commitment to keeping it accessible.
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 July 2026.
Scope of This Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, used, and retained in connection with your visit to and use of the United States Universities For Ukraine website (the "Site"), which is operated by United States Universities For Ukraine, an independent educational initiative (the "Operator").
This Policy applies to the Site and to the free planning tools it offers, and it does not apply to any third-party website, service, or dataset that the Site may link to or reference.
By using the Site, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy.
The Site Does Not Require an Account
The Site does not require you to register, log in, or create any account, and it does not charge for or process any payments.
Planning Tools Operate Entirely in Your Own Browser
The Site offers a set of free educational planning tools, including a GPA calculator, a Ukrainian-grade-to-US-GPA converter, an NMT-to-SAT/ACT score estimator, a financial-aid finder, a true-cost and aid-letter decoder, an Education Record Helper, a jargon translator, and planning timelines and countdowns.
These tools run entirely inside your own web browser, and any information you type into them, along with any results they generate, is stored only on your own device using your browser's local storage or session storage.
The Operator does not receive, transmit, collect, or store any of the information you enter into these tools, and the Operator has no ability to view, recover, or restore that information if it is lost or deleted from your device.
You are responsible for safeguarding any device on which you use these tools, since information stored locally can be viewed by anyone with access to that device or browser profile.
The Contact Form
If you choose to contact the Operator through the Site's contact form, the Operator will receive only the information you voluntarily submit, which typically consists of your name, your email address, and the content of your message.
The contact form may be processed or delivered through a third-party form-handling or email-delivery service acting on the Operator's behalf, and such a service may incidentally process your submission as part of transmitting it to the Operator.
Information submitted through the contact form is used solely to respond to your inquiry and for no other purpose.
The Operator does not use contact form submissions for marketing, profiling, or any automated decision-making.
No Sale or Sharing of Personal Data
The Operator does not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party, and the Operator does not share your personal data with third parties except as necessary to deliver the contact form as described above or as required by law.
Donations
If you choose to make a donation, your payment is processed by a third-party payment provider away from the Site, and the Operator does not receive or store your card number or bank account details.
Cookies and Local Storage
The Site does not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or third-party analytics of any kind.
The Site enforces a strict Content Security Policy that limits the resources it loads to the Operator's own assets, a small number of web-font providers, and a small number of script content-delivery networks needed for the Site to function.
Any cookies or local storage used by the Site are first-party and strictly functional, meaning they exist only to support features such as language preference, tool calculations, and saved planning data on your own device.
You can clear this locally stored data at any time using your browser's settings, and doing so will not affect your ability to browse the Site.
Children's Privacy
The Site is an educational resource intended to be useful to students from middle school through university, and the Operator recognizes that some visitors will be minors.
The Site is not directed to children under the age of 13, and the Operator does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 through the contact form or otherwise.
The Operator encourages minors to use the Site together with a parent, guardian, or teacher, and to seek that adult's involvement before submitting any information through the contact form.
If the Operator becomes aware that a child under 13 has submitted personal data through the contact form without appropriate consent, the Operator will delete that data promptly upon discovery.
International Visitors, Ukraine, and the European Union
The Site is accessed by visitors located in Ukraine, the European Union, the United States, and other countries, and data protection laws differ among these jurisdictions.
The Operator minimizes the personal data it collects by design, since the planning tools store data only on your own device and the Operator receives personal data only when you voluntarily submit the contact form.
Because most data associated with your use of the Site never leaves your own device, you can exercise control over that data at any time by clearing your browser's local storage or cookies.
If you have submitted information through the contact form and wish to request access to, correction of, or deletion of that information, you may contact the Operator using the details below, and the Operator will respond within a reasonable time.
Third-Party Links
The Site links to universities, government agencies, scholarship providers, and other third-party resources for your convenience.
The Operator does not control and is not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or accuracy of any third-party website, and this Policy does not apply to those third-party websites.
You should review the privacy policy of any third-party website before submitting personal data to it.
Security
The Operator uses reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect the Site and any information transmitted through the contact form.
No method of transmission over the internet and no method of electronic storage is completely secure, and the Operator cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
The Operator may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Site's practices or for legal or operational reasons.
The date at the top of this Policy indicates when it was last revised, and continued use of the Site after an update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
Contact Us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or about how your information is handled, you may contact the Operator at info@usufu.org.

Terms of Service
Last updated: 20 July 2026.
Acceptance of These Terms
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the United States Universities For Ukraine website (the "Site"), operated by United States Universities For Ukraine, an independent educational initiative (the "Operator").
By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms, and if you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Site.
If you are a minor, the Operator recommends that you review these Terms together with a parent, guardian, or teacher before using the Site.
The Site Provides General Educational Information Only
The Site is provided solely for general educational and informational purposes to help students and families understand the process of applying to universities in the United States.
Nothing on the Site constitutes legal advice, immigration advice, financial advice, tax advice, or professional admissions counseling of any kind.
The Operator is not a law firm, immigration consultancy, financial advisory firm, or accredited educational counseling service, and no attorney-client, advisor-client, or fiduciary relationship of any kind is created by your use of the Site.
You should not rely on the Site as a substitute for consultation with a qualified attorney, licensed immigration professional, financial advisor, tax professional, or accredited admissions counselor regarding your individual circumstances.
No Guarantee of Any Outcome
Nothing on the Site guarantees or implies any particular outcome, including admission to any educational institution, receipt of any scholarship or financial aid, approval of any visa or immigration benefit, or any other result.
Admissions, financial aid, and visa decisions are made exclusively by the relevant universities, funding organizations, and government agencies based on criteria and processes outside the Operator's knowledge and control.
You should not make any final academic, financial, or immigration decision solely in reliance on information found on the Site.
Planning Tools Produce Non-Authoritative Estimates
The GPA calculator, grade converter, score estimator, financial-aid finder, true-cost and aid-letter decoder, Education Record Helper, jargon translator, and planning timelines offered on the Site are provided for general planning purposes only.
All figures, conversions, estimates, and dataset entries produced or displayed by these tools are approximations that may not match the calculations, policies, or requirements actually applied by any university, testing organization, or government agency.
You must independently verify any figure, deadline, policy, or eligibility criterion produced by these tools against the official source, such as the relevant university, testing organization, or government agency, before relying on it.
The financial-aid dataset reflects information collected at a point in time, and university aid policies can change without notice, so the dataset may be incomplete or outdated at the time you view it.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these Terms.
You agree not to misuse the Site, including by attempting to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site, interfering with or disrupting the Site's operation, or introducing any virus, malware, or other harmful code.
You agree not to scrape, harvest, or extract data from the Site in a manner intended to harm the Site, its performance, or its availability to other users.
You agree not to use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation.
Intellectual Property
All text, graphics, tool logic, design, and other content on the Site, other than third-party content identified as such, is the property of the Operator or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
The Operator grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to view and use the Site's content for your own personal, non-commercial educational purposes.
You may not reproduce, redistribute, sell, or create derivative works from the Site's content for commercial purposes without the Operator's prior written permission.
Third-Party Links and Datasets
The Site contains links to universities, government agencies, scholarship providers, and other third-party resources, and it displays a dataset describing university financial-aid policies.
These links and this dataset are provided as is and for your convenience only, and the Operator does not control, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or availability of any third-party website or of the underlying policies described in the dataset.
Your use of any third-party website is governed by that website's own terms and policies, and the Operator is not responsible for any third-party website.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The Site, including all tools, content, and datasets, is provided on an as is and as available basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Operator disclaims all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
The Operator does not warrant that the Site will be available at all times, that it will be free of errors or defects, or that any error or defect will be corrected.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Operator shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of, or inability to access or use, the Site.
This limitation applies to any decision you make or action you take in reliance on the Site's content or on any output produced by the Site's tools, including decisions relating to admissions, financial aid, scholarships, visas, or immigration status.
This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory on which a claim is based, whether contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise, and even if the Operator has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Because the Site is offered free of charge, some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the limitations in this section may not apply to you, and in such cases the Operator's liability will be limited to the greatest extent permitted by applicable law.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Operator, its officers, contributors, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your misuse of the Site or your violation of these Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
Changes to These Terms
The Operator may revise these Terms from time to time, and the date at the top of these Terms indicates when they were last revised.
Your continued use of the Site after any revision constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

If you have questions about these Terms, you may contact the Operator at info@usufu.org.
