opens a door
We are small, our costs are small, and every one of them exists to keep something free that would otherwise cost a family money.
USUFU charges nothing and sells nothing, so there is no revenue to fall back on. What a gift covers is short and unglamorous: the domain and the hosting that keep the site reachable, the practice materials we distribute at no charge, and the translation of every new guide into Ukrainian so that a parent who reads no English is not shut out of their own child's application. There is no salary line and no office.
Two things we would rather say up front. We are an informational initiative, not a scholarship fund: money given here pays for the site and its materials, and it is never forwarded to an individual student, so please do not give in the belief that it becomes someone's tuition. And we are new — if at any point a gift is not needed for one of the purposes above, we will say so on this page rather than take it anyway.
How to give, for now
There is no donate button on this page yet, and we would rather admit that than put up a form that does not work. Setting up a way to take money properly — the account, the receipts, the record-keeping a donor is entitled to expect — takes longer than building a page, and we are not going to rush the part that involves other people's money.
So until it is ready, giving starts with a message. Write to us, tell us roughly what you have in mind, and we will reply with what is genuinely needed at that moment and how to send it. That is slower than a button, and it has one advantage a button does not: nobody gives us anything before we have told them what it pays for.
Write to us about giving
Tell us the rough amount or the kind of help you are offering — money, hosting credit, professional translation, printing, or something your employer will match. We answer personally, we will tell you if the thing you are offering is not needed right now, and nothing is taken until you have agreed to what it covers.
A proper donation system — card payments, receipts, a public record of what the money covered — is planned. When it is live it will appear on this page, and this note will come down.
